Chapter 1-Matter in our surroundings

Content: Definition of the matter, three states of the matter solid, state, and gas, properties of particles of the matter, evaporation, vaporization, condensation, sublimation, latent heat of the fusion, and latent heat of vaporization.

Chapter 2-Is matter around us pure?

Content: The homogenous and heterogeneous mixture, solution, suspension, colloid, different kinds of colloids, Tyndal effect, and the ways of separating components from the mixtures.

Chapter3- Atoms and Molecules

Content: Dalton’s postulates of atomic theory, the definition of the atom and molecule, atomicity, element and compound, chemical formula, the difference between atom and molecule, Avogadro number, molar mass, and mole concept.

Chapter 4-Structure of the Atom

Content: Thompson’s atomic modal, rutherford’s atomic model, Neil’s Bohr’s atomic modal, the discovery of the electron, proton, and neutrons, the electronic configuration of the atom

Chapter 5-Fundamental unit of life

Chapter 11- Work and Energy

Chapter 12- Sound

Content: The propagation of the sound waves, rarefaction, and compression in the sound wave, frequency, amplitude, velocity and wavelength of sound waves, types of the  waves, longitudinal and transverse waves, infrared, ultrasonic waves

 Chapter 13-Why do we fall ill?

Content: The definition of the health, immune system, illness, infectious diseases, deficiency diseases, hereditary diseases, physiological diseases, acute and chronic diseases, communicable and non-communicable diseases, COPD, asthma, the diseases caused by the bacteria and viruses.

Chapter 14- Natural Resources

Content: Natural resources, the number of gases in the atmosphere, the percentage of the water on the earth, renewable and non-renewable resources, the causes of acid rain, soil erosion, water cycle, nitrogen cycle, and oxygen cycle, greenhouse effects, and its effects on global warming, the ozone layer.

Chapter 15-Improvement in food resources
