Factors affecting the rate of evaporation

Evaporation is the process in which a liquid transforms from a liquid state to a gaseous state. Do you know only heating is not the cause of transforming liquid into gas, there are other factors also which are responsible for the rate of evaporation? Have you observed why do clothes dry more quickly during summer than during the rainy season on days of equal temperature? When you are in hurry and you poured hot tea on the plate and it eases to you drink tea? All of these events are explained by knowing the concept of evaporation.

Factors affecting the rate of evaporation

Temperature: With the increase of heat the rate of evaporation increases, it is that’s why in summer the clothes are dried up quickly compared to the winter season.

Surface area: With the increase of the surface area the rate of evaporation increases, as an example, the tea becomes cool more quickly when we pour it on the plate from a cup.

Humidity: The rate of evaporation decreases with the increase of humidity, in the rainy season there is more humidity compared to the summer season, it is that’s why clothes are dried up in delay compared to the summer season.
