कोशिका में प्लाज्मा झिल्ली का क्या काम होता है?

कोशिका में प्लाज़्मा झिल्ली एक अर्धपारगम्य झिल्ली के रूप में काम करती है जो कुछ पदार्थों को कोशिका के अंदर से बाहर और बाहर से अंदर की ओर प्रवाहित होने से रोकती है। प्लाज़्मा झिल्ली कोशिका के अन्दर और बाहर चयनित रूप से पदार्थों के प्रवाह को बनाए रखती है जो कोशिका के कामकाज के लिए आवश्यक है। प्लाज़्मा झिल्ली अपने अंदर मौजूद कोशिकांगों को सुरक्षा प्रदान करती है ताकि वे अपना अलग-अलग कार्य पूरी तरह से कर सकें।

प्लाज्मा झिल्ली की संरचना: प्लाज्मा झिल्ली फॉस्फोलिपिड्स, कार्बोहाइड्रेट, प्रोटीन और कोलेस्ट्रॉल से बनी होती है, इसे फॉस्फोलिपिड बाइलेयर भी कहा जाता है क्योंकि इसकी ऊपरी और निचली परत फॉस्फोलिपिड्स की दोहरी परत से बनी होती है।

प्लाज्मा झिल्ली के कार्य:

(i) प्लाज्मा झिल्ली कोशिकांग और कोशिका के बाहरी वातावरण के बीच एक मध्यस्थता का काम करती है।

(ii) प्लाज्मा झिल्ली एक अर्ध-पारगम्य अथवा वर्णात्मक पारगम्य झिल्ली है क्योंकि यह कोशिका के अंदर और बाहर कुछ अणुओं की आवाजाही को नियंत्रित करती है,मतलब यह कुछ पदार्थों को अंदर या बाहर जाने देती है।

(iii) परासरण और विसरण की क्रिया द्वारा एंडोसाइटोसिस और एक्सोसाइटोसिस दोनों प्रक्रियाएं प्लाज्मा झिल्ली से होती है। ये प्लाज्मा झिल्ली के कार्य हैं जिसके माध्यम से यह आंतरिक वातावरण को कोशिका के बाहरी वातावरण से जोड़ती है।

(iv) चूंकि कोशिका जंक्शन (जहां कोशिकाएं एक दूसरे से मिलती है)प्लाज्मा झिल्ली से बना होता है इसलिए एक कोशिका में परिवर्तन प्लाज्मा झिल्ली के माध्यम से अन्य कोशिकाओं में संचारित होता है जो बहुकोशिकीय जीवों में आवश्यक होता है।

(v) प्लाज्मा झिल्ली नलिकाओं और तंतुओं के एक नेटवर्क से जुड़ी होती है जिसे साइटोस्केलेटन कहा जाता है जो कोशिका को एक आकार प्रदान करता है।
